My King.

I long to be his Queen,
To share his throne and his bed,
To stand by his side with a proud smile.
I see myself there beside him.
Alas he does not share the same vision.
I stand by his side in combat and advice.
He sees me as his rock, one he must not disappoint.
But to what avail?
What true meaning do I have to him?
Does his heart beat for me?
He has had my heart for some time,
And he knows it.
But do I hold his?
I hope I do.
Only time will tell.
By the gods, I wish to be his.
I only pray my wish is received and returned.
But the gods are cruel and will not answer.
They ignore my cries.
I must only wait now for my King to come to me.
A wait that is painful to the heart and soul.
